Description

Umdat Al Ahkam is recognized as the most authentic compilation of legal traditions (Ahadith) that jurists rely on for various issues of jurisprudence (fiqh). The book includes Ahadith, which is agreed upon by both al-Bukhari and Muslims or by at least one of them. We have provided an accurate translation of the texts, along with titles for the Ahadith and explanations of challenging Arabic terms. Additionally, a comprehensive commentary on these Ahadith is included, encompassing the views of most scholars on various fiqh issues.

This work aims to offer an English commentary on the 420 Ahadith compiled by Abu al-Ghunaim al-Maqdisi, with a primary focus on the legal rulings derived from these prophetic traditions. The commentary is based on more than twenty commentaries of Umdat al-Ahkam, fifteen commentaries of Bulugh Al-Maram, commentaries on the six books of Hadith, and other texts related to Islamic law.

The book also seeks to study Islamic jurisprudence by directly referencing its proofs and elucidating the scholarly and methodological approach to deriving rulings from their respective sources. Moreover, it highlights moral lessons derived from the Ahadith under discussion.

Included in this book is a detailed commentary on the Umdat al-Ahkam of Imam al-Maqdisi, featuring:

– Alternative versions of the Ahadith
– Vocabulary for each Hadith
– Biographies of the narrators
– Jurisprudence derived from each Hadith.

The commentary focuses on juristic issues derived from the Ahadith texts and the methodology for extracting rulings while referencing Islamic legal theory principles and fiqh's legal maxims.
