“[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [Oh Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.” (Surah Sad 38:29)
Allah SWT commanded us to read, ponder and analyse the verses of the Quran. Since its revelation and until the end of time, the Quran is the source of truth, knowledge and guidance for all mankind. To apply the values and lessons of the Quran in our day-to-day lives, we must be able to read it and understand its meaning. Thus, a word-for-word translation is necessary to study the lessons and meanings in the Quran.
The Maqdis Al-Quran is the disruptor making the Quran more accessible to English-speaking audiences. It is the first Quran translated into English word-for-word and presented with Tajweed colour-coding. Furthermore, it implements a plethora of nifty features that allow users to maximise their experience reading and understanding the miracle that is the Quran.
What makes Maqdis different?
Word-for-Word Translation
The Maqdis Al Quran features translation on a word-for-word level, allowing users to grasp vocabulary and ponder on the meaning of verses more easily. This feature is the first in publishing history with regard to the Quran. Furthermore, a translation by Muhammad Muhsin Khan (approved by the University of Madinah) is incorporated on the side of each page for users to understand the whole meaning of the verses.

With regards to tajweed, the Maqdis incorporate several nifty features:
Transliteration guide. In its first few pages, Maqdis Quran features a transliteration guide from Arabic letters to its Latin counterpart, as well as a guide to shaddah, ta marbutah, long and short vowels and more.
Colour-coded tajweed. This feature is embedded in the verses and accompanied by a key on the bottom margins of each page.

Bookmark
Maqdis innovates on the humble bookmark by incorporating a guide for waqf and punctuation marks in the Quran, as well as the Sujud At-Tilawah - the verse recited in prostration when encountering the sajda in the Quran.
Thematic Index
An extremely practical feature of the Maqdis is the thematic index, located in the book's latter pages, that allows users to easily locate important themes in the Quran. For example, suppose someone was writing a report about important battles in Islamic history. In that case, they can easily flip to the index and see exactly which ayats of the Quran the battles were mentioned. Under the subheading of the battles are bullet points of the referenced ayats as well as a summary of what it entails.
99 Names
Every square centimetre of the Maqdis has been maximised to incorporate as many convenient features as possible, and one such feature is the 99 names of Allah incorporated on the inside of the back cover. This feature is a convenient location and a considerate touch for users to flip back to and memorise His names and their meaning.
Quran Etiquettes
Among the scriptures, the Holy Quran is the most sacred and revered book in the world. As it is the direct words of Allah SWT, it stands in distinction from all other books and thus must be treated as such. One needs to keep many etiquettes in mind when reading the Al-Quran to reap as many rewards as possible. The Maqdis al Quran features a page listing these etiquettes and, accompanying them, a hadith or verse from the Quran that supports it.
Dua Khatam
Finally, the Dua Khatam is conveniently located after the final page of the Quran, allowing those who have completed the recitation a seamless transition to recite the dua.
The Maqdis Al Quran is available in three convenient sizes – A4, A5 & B5 – and features a beautiful hardcover design. The Maqdis Quran is a must-have item for every Muslim household.
