Builders of a Nation

Women have played a significant role in spreading our Deen throughout history. They have contributed as mothers, wives, supporters, and defenders of our religion. This book gives readers a glimpse into the lives of thirty-seven remarkable women, starting with those from the Prophet Muhammad's (ﷺ) household, female companions, and pioneers of Islamic History. 

Deliberate efforts have been made to select these women. They are diverse, yet they all share the same roots—consciousness of Allah (Swt), unwavering obedience to Him, and a commitment to benefit their communities with the blessings bestowed upon them. 

From the vast knowledge of ʿĀ’ishah, the piety and fasting of Ḥafṣah, the warrior spirit of Nusaybah, to the pioneering medical care of Rufaydah, each woman featured in this book may serve as your role model in education, motherhood, and practising your faith. As such, they deserve the title of Builders of a Nation. 

The book is divided into three main sections. The first section focuses on the key figures in the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ household - his wives and daughters. The second section highlights the female Companions who actively participated in constructing a new nation, each contributing their unique qualities and characteristics to shape Islamic society. The final section features a selection of Muslim women throughout history, each extraordinary in their own right, harnessing distinct gifts bestowed upon them by Allah to build this Ummah. 

Women in Islamic History have significantly impacted building nations, whether through education, raising children, raising scholars, or being scholars themselves. These exceptional women have helped shape the world. They have many favours upon us, and the least we can do is learn about them and share their inspiring lives with others.
