The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was reported to have said:
«Whoever performed a good sunnah in Islam will have the reward of it and the reward of those who perform it after him.» (Narrated by Imam Muslim)
The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) also said:
«Pray as you have seen me praying.» (Narrated by Bukhari and Ahmad)
The author has attempted to bring to the attention of English-speaking Muslims some of the sunan (plural of sunnah), or highly recommended acts, relating to prayer which, regrettably, are rarely performed nowadays, in the hope that it will inspire the readers to revive them in their own practice of Islam and in the practice of their communities.
